There are many times a champion fights nobodies. Usually in between real fights. There called “tune ups”. I call them a waste of my money.

And so you wanted Finkel to make a fight that was a waste of your money?

Why would Finkel want to waste a fight that he knew could be a huge PPV by making the fight before anybody even knew who Wilder was?

Wilder worked his way into the mandatory position, dominated the champion, made two quick defenses while Klitschko was busy anyway, then called out Klitschko. What else should he have done?

I am not talking in your time description. Finkel isn’t even part of the conversation.
There are many times a nobody fights a champion. I never heard Wilder pressing the issue and he’s a big mouth.

If Deontay Wilder had the chance to fight Wladimir Klitschko in the next year, he'd sign the contract as soon as possible.

"If it was tomorrow, I could beat him," Wilder recently told Forbes. "I've improved so much since 2012, and he's declining. He's getting older. He's not going to be the same as he was. We know each other, and I know how to beat him. I know what it takes. He doesn't have as much energy as I do. I'm the toughest, the strongest and the fastest heavyweight he's faced."

But Wilder also doesn't think he'll have to wait for too much longer. Every time somebody mentions Klitschko's name to him, Wilder envisions the month of September 2016.

"Everybody will be clear of mandatories then. He wants it; I want it," Wilder said. "Why not? Let's do it once and for all. I'm very confident in what I'm going to do. For me as time passes by, it's more a benefit to me than it is to him. I haven't even peaked as a heavyweight yet. If I were him, I'd try to fight me right now."

Wilder's team had their choice of locations for that 50 million. It could just as easily been Alabama as Vegas.

                80 Million.

It was 80 million since there was also a 30 million dollar guarantee for the second fight.

I just hope Hearn carved AJ out an 80 million dollar chunk of that DAZN money.

And I hope AJ gets all 80 million by April of next year, cuz that's what taking the deal Wilder offered would have got him.

DAZN isn't going to work here in the US.

They are going to need 12 million subscribers to break even. They may get it world-wide but America aint buying it.

Hell, ESPN just put on Crawford and Pac in consecutive months on their ESPN+ streaming service and I get the feeling that if they had had any kind of success at all, we'd have heard about it.

                We havent.

So, if a $5 a month service with bonafide stars on the card can't do well, how is a service that cost twice as much with NO US KNOWN NAMES on it going to do anything?

That’s nice but never heard him talk more $h1t with Klit.
AJ barely whipped OLD Klit. Wilder wasn’t ready and u know it. He is now. Too late. U snooze you loose. Now, get in line.

That article is three years old. Wilder and Klitschko had the same manager, who was actively planning for them to fight each other in 2016. The only reason it didn't happen is because Klitschko lost to Fury.

Funny part is Joshua is giving up making that kind of money
in favor of having the home advantage.
In contrast, Wilder and Wilder-ites complain about getting low balled.
                      Meaning, they want more.
                      Greedy people.
They also want it in Vegas, where it will cost $70 PPV, with ticket prices astronomical and out of reach.

But they can't even afford DAZN for $10!
