Comments Thread For: Parker's Trainer: We Want 'Fair Referee' For Dillian Whyte Fight

Joseph Parker's trainer has demanded that the British Boxing Board of Control assign "a fair referee" to his upcoming fight against Dillian Whyte. New Zealand's Parker (24-1, 18 KOs) and London's Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) are scheduled to meet in a 12-round heavyweight fight July 28 at O2 Arena in London. Kevin Barry, Parker's trainer, made it clear upon their arrival Tuesday in the United Kingdom that Parker's team is still displeased with how Italian referee Giuseppe Quartarone officiated Parker's 12-round, unanimous-decision defeat to Anthony Joshua on March 31 in Cardiff, Wales.

They know if they criticise the ref and judges before a fight it increases the chances of the judges afraid to look bias. Parker's team are not confident here and they weren't confident of beating Hughie or Joshua either.

He got outboxed by Hughie despite coming forward and lost to Joshua by going back foot. I've lost respect for Parker over those 2 fights, and believe Whyte will laugh at his offence and walk him down aggressively. The Joshua fight proved to me he doesn't have the mentality of a fighter, despite his Maori heritage and possessing the skills required.

''fair british referee'' that's an oxymoron. lolz. I demand joseph parker be warned for punching with the inside of the glove when he throws that slapping left hook. Parker needs to remember he is not the A side here, no one wants to see a rematch of parker vs AJ, you are just the opponent and should be down atleast 2 rounds before the first round has even begun. It's a bitter pill to swallow but that's what you signed up for. haha can tell I bet on Whyte, hopefully he can move better than in the Helenius fight. smh. He blamed helenius for not making the fight but Helenius is not klitschko or haye in their prime running around keeping it long.

Can Whyte actually take some steps and move around cause I seen better movement in Ortiz than Whyte, he just wobbles and Parker throws slapping hooks, surprised he hasn't damaged his hands. All parker is looking for is his over hand right and left to the body, his other punches lack power, and he can't fight backing up. I think the judges and referee should favor aggression and Parker will be the one running, he always does.

It's hard to like Parker with the way his team are always talking about officials.

Just stfu and get on with it.

To be fair if you listen to interview he was questioned specifically on it. They answered the question , rather than being t up themselves. What they did say was they were happy for a British referee, they just wanted a respected good ref

He's not Maori, so i guess that makes the rest of your ignorant nonsense irrelevant.
