Eddie just said in the just released IFL interview the plan was for him to fight on Chicago October card but now with the BJS purse bid they may just go straight into the fight. Original plan was to get him 2 quick fights and then he would be likely be IBF mandatory.Comment

Sure, but in that case we get the most entertainment on lower level cards like SHO Extreme. End of the day, you still need quality match ups with the top guys. Even though the fights you mentioned didn't deliver, they were high quality match ups with elite fighters. That's all we want. What happens afterwards is not predictable. We can think Spence/Crawford is going to be a great fight, but it could end up being a stinker. And you know what, that's fine. Will suck, but at least we got two of the highest quality operators facing off.
Every other sport we get best vs best, yet in boxing it is fine if the top guys just fight in mismatches right? Gtfo, what kind of terrible logic is that? And all the times those types of fights don't deliver, you get other times they do in Wlad/Klitschko, Brook/Spence, GGG/Jacobs, Jack/Stevenson, LSC/Frampton, Hurd/Lara, Linares/Lomachenko, Dorticos/Gassiev, Usyk/Briedis, etc.
So yeah, sorry if I won't be satisfied with garbage cards and just say to myself, "at least I got to watch 40 boxing shows this year, great!!!!!!!"
Why are you happy with only the top P4P fighting each other? genuine question. Why don't you care about watching your amateur fighters and prospects? watch the journey from talented amateur, to pro, to elite fighter? it makes you more invested in them. I had that with Tyson Fury from when I seen him at 22 years old... which made his win exciting against Klitschko 10x better than an average person watching..... now I have it with Josh Taylor. A true boxing fan will support from beginning to eventual end. It seems like you only care about the hyped fights, which is a casual way of viewing boxing IMO.
Part of the fun of boxing is watching how fighters come up and speculating about fights, the best fighting the best happens rarely, which makes it a big event. If you want to watch that try UFC.Comment

Fair enough, there must be a different mentality over there than here for boxing fans. The WBSS would be enough for me to pay £7.50 a month (which is less than 20 cigarettes). You then have to look at the 32 matchroom shows...... coming from the U.K, this IS insane value for boxing fans.

And who said I don't like to see prospects grow? That is great!!! And we get to see that here in the states on FS1 or SHO Extreme. What we don't get is prospects fighting four rounders on PPVs. That is disgusting and I would hate that. The prospects could fight on the non-televised portion of SHO cards while their fights being aired either on SHO Extreme or on facebook/youtube. I'm not made at that part of the DAZN/Boxing deal. They will be showing the entire card which is great. That isn't for every fan, but I don't mind that, especially with youngsters. It's just that Hearn hasn't signed many prospects yet, and none that are seen as blue chippers.Comment

When did I say I only need P4P guys facing off each other? What I want is quality. I want guys at the top of their weight classes fighting other top guys. I want match ups where there are less than 2:1 odds of the favorite winning. I'm good with a showcase here or there or a mandatory defense against a lesser opponent as that is necessary, but I'm not going to be sold on just getting 40+ fight cards.

What prospects in the U.S get exposure? you even have legit P4P guys that are unknown and promoted very poorly, who should be making lots more money!
I think Dazn will take off in the next year. They already have some amazing fights lined up and Matchroom will put on proper events enjoyed by the masses, taking boxing around the country and to smaller towns and city's, just like they done in the U.K. The trick is making it accessible to the average person. How many Average salary people can go to boxing events? I make an average salary and have been to see AJ and others.... that doesn't happen in the U.S because of your pricing, which Hearn will change.Comment

Yea there is a different mentality in the States. We watch players come up as kids to adults in MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL etc.. Most of those sports are provided within the school system. Boxing just isn't as popular and when people so watch it they want to see good fights. They do not really care about the build up of a fighter. They want to see a finished product which is why American fans take so long to support a fighter.
There is no excuse here, boxing is not a sport taught at school or popular, but it's advertised alongside those sports.Comment

9.99 would be a bargain if you're watching DAZN every day. Most of the Matchroom shows are garbage mismatches put on by Hearn. You ain't getting boxing every day. Boxing will probably be on once a week. Remember there's 52 weeks in a year. How many of those shows will be quality fights with big names. Netflix and Showtime at 10.99 and 8.99 are a bargain cause I'm willing to watch those everyday. I subscribed to ESPN+ and forgot to cancel and have only watched once, nothing else on there interest me to put it on. DAZN will show a fight on the weekend for 2-3 hours and that's it. What else do they have to offer that I would want to watch when boxing isn't on. Bellator? Bellator is garbage with old UFC fighters. Soccer? Japanese League baseball, Formula 1?Comment

You said you wanted quality over quantity and mentioned P4P fighters, so I assumed you were like the MAJORITY of U.S fight fans....this deal is trying to change that mentality by offering a lot of fights at a low price and giving people exposure.

And why do you say low price? What exactly about $10 dollars is a low price when SHO is like $13 dollars and gives you premium hit shows and other documentaries when DAZN is strictly sport based? So if that is a low price, what is ESPN+ for $5 dollars?
Plenty of prospects get could exposure here. Spence was fighting on FS1 cards and SHO extreme making his way to the top. You have Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez getting fights on ESPN. They are getting more exposure in those big platforms than those signed to Hearn will be getting on DAZN where they will be lucky to crack six figures in subscribers in the first three to four months of the launch. They don't have other quality sports league content at the moment, and have lower level MMA organization instead of the UFC.
The pricing for US cards in general is fine. The PPV cards are over priced, but most of the other ones are fine. I've had GREAT seats at cards for only $85 bucks. Like lower level 6th row. If you want to go to a Canelo or Mayweather card? Then good luck, but if and when AJ/Wilder takes place in the states, don't expect to be anything less than what you get for other mega fights. There is a reason AJ/Wlad sold 90k but did FAR less in live gate than other mega events in the states.
You don't need to sell me on anything, LIS, I pretty much purchase everything. Even mediocre PPVs I will likely be getting. So yeah, I will be getting a DAZN subscription, but I don't need to hear BS as for a reason to get it.
Also, all the amazing cards that are already lined up on DAZN? What amazing cards? Sorry, we don't even have the opponents for Andrade/Vargas on Oct 6 yet, and Roman/McDonnell isn't no amazing card. Now, if it will be Andrade/BJS? Then that is the type of quality I was referring to.Comment

Your not paying 9.99 for 32 Matchroom fights. Your lucky to pay 9.99 for 4 cards in a month. Most of Matchroom cards in the UK are garbage.Comment
