Comments Thread For: Bivol Prepares For Chilemba, Admits He Has One Eye on Kovalev

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - If you're a fan of incendiary interview rhetoric, here's a tip: Dmitry Bivol may not be for you. The 27-year-old Russian leans more toward respectful confidence when it comes to pre-fight chats, but reveals a bit more of his flame-thrower side upon actually stepping through the ropes...

Come on Dmitry! you know who the best is, the Lineal champion who has been reigning @ 175 before you even had a quality win! Adonis 'Superman' Stevenson!! -- its not up for debate.

Sergay Kovalev is a washed-up mangled demoralized drunker left on the side of the road by Andre 'S.O.G' Ward ; beating this HBO paper-champion means nothing anymore.

I see Bivol as the future of this division. No way I agree with the RING rankings. Stevenson is 40 and will have to go soon.

Beterbiev is a threat as is Kovalev, and I still like Jack and Gvozdyk as wildcards.

Bivol has excellent fundamentals, appears hungry, committed, and I like his approach to training - focusing on getting better rather than spending too much time adjusting for opponents. Not that knowing your opponent is a bad thing, but Cotto, GGG and others have shown what happens when you move away from developing and retaining your natural strengths.

Under Sanchez Cotto forgot his left hook, while Golovkin has thrown too few body shots of late.

Man I love Chilemba, was hoping this fight would not happen. He needs a rest from fighting the monsters of the division.
