Has 2018 been let down for boxing?

    Joshua Wilder is a mess

    Thurman is still MIA

Canelo and this meat scandal which postponed Ggg fight and gave us Ggg vs Vanes instead

Spence only notable fight was against a past it Peterson (which isnt his fault thoe)

    Broner came up short again

Eubank jr failed to deliver what was suppost to be Britians foty

Degale looked awful in his come back

Joshua Parker didnt live up to the hype

Matthyse failed in what was post to be foty canidate

There have been some good moments to like Wilder/Ortiz Hurd/Lara Loma and Crawford winning there new Belts and so on it just seems 2017 was a great year all the way thru and 2018 isnt liveing up to the hype!

Some good moments but yes it’s been *****.

I’ve barely been interested in boxing for months except from speculating about Wilder vs Joshua. There’s just **** all going on.

I’m looking forward to the end of the first WBSS tourneys (Usyk s Gassiev babeh), the second round of WBSS, and GGg vs Canelo, but generally there isn’t a huge amount on the horizon.

It always look like this in July. September and December are our playoffs.

This has been one of the better years in my opinion. The second half already has some great fights lined up!

No, it has been fine. And we are getting Canelo/GGG rematch in September.

Ortiz/Wilder was great. Lara vs Hurd was great. We are getting Usyk/Gassiev next week and both had exciting fights earlier in the year. Stevenson/Jack delivered. Garcia/Lipinets was fun. Lomachenko/Linares had some drama and was a very good fight. We will soon get Garcia/Porter that should be competitive. Sucks we are missing out on Charlo/Hurd, but one fighter is injured so what could you do? Oh yeah, Sor Rungvisai/Estrada wasn't too bad was it?

So no, I don't think boxing in 2018 has been bad at all. Would have been better if we would have gotten Wilder/Joshua though.

It's been lousy in a lot of respects but hey.

                Usyk-Gassiev next week!!

Now, if that doesn't deliver, I can't blame boxing here. They're really trying and this one should be a great fight.

But yeah, a lot of the year has been shlt.

Boxing fans complain too much. the sport has been "dying" for 50 years.

We've also had Usyk-Briedis and Gassiev-Dorticos. 2018 has had some very good high points.
