Comments Thread For: Rocky Fielding: I'd Love An ECHO Arena Defense of WBA Title

Rocky Fielding is elated after winning a version of the world title. The 30-year-old super-middleweight upset the odds in Offenburg against the champion Tyron Zeuge, stopping him inside five rounds on Saturday night to win the WBA regular' crown.

    Well done, Rocky.

Always great when a good guy wins some kind of title, especially in a land where the local pugilistic mafia always finds a way to steal wins from the visitors.

Shouldnt be a problem. I can see that being Hearns focal point for Rocky whilst he has that belt.

Local support will always pack an arena for a world title held by on of their own on a matchroom card

It was a really impressive performance but I think it’s all amplified by seeing him getting mullered by Callum Smith.

I think he probably got offered the Zeuge fight because they thought he would get beat easily. Now he’ll be avoided! Turdo didn’t fancy it.

It’s still a bit of a paper belt while Groves is out there

The Super Middle division is stacked domestically, but it is a strange one overall at the moment.

-Who knows if the WBSS final will go ahead
          -DeGale dropped the IBF
          -Zurdo fighting bums
-Everyone afraid of Uzcategui & Benavidez

When was the last unification? DeGale v Jack?

A 'version' of the WBA title...

I am pleased for Fielding, but in reality he is a C level guy on his very best day.

Far too many unfair comments here. The Guy's done well. however if he really wants a major showdown to cash in, then it has to be Zurdo or Ramirez in some kind of unification & quite likely not in the UK!

Really hope to see him rematch Ryder in his first defense
