Is Busier Footwork like Loma's better?

Than a guy like a Mikey Garcia, Andre Ward or Floyd? I've heard people make remarks as far as Lomachenko having great footwork, and i believe he does, but i just think its something where people equate great footwork with busier footwork.

Footwork has to have a purpose, to much wasted movement equals wasted energy....Loma seems to move with purpose

Ali’s footwork, as much as it hurts to say this, is an example of busier footwork that waste energy. A guy like JMM is an example of simple footwork with a purpose and no flash.
Loma’s footwork, as flashy as they look, is great with no wasted movement. Every side steps he takes serves a purpose.

Naw Ali in his younger days when he moved alot was with purpose and he created momentum for his shots and his defensive maneuvers . When he got older he got more flat footed and got hit a lot more. Ali's defense just like Roy Jones was in his feet

Yeah but does it mean better? I don't think that it makes it better, just amazing when done right.

              Exactly.

There are different styles of footwork that can all be considered "correct" as long as they are serving a specific purpose.

In a way it does because his footwork is very versatile. As others have said before his footwork serves a purpose. He’s able to use his fast feet to either pressure or stick and move to avoid punches. If he didn’t have that creative footwork he wouldn’t be as dominant. Different strokes for different folks.

Foot work that creates angles and makes you opponent miss usually breaks them down to the point that some guys quit on their stools

I agree, i just have the POV of simpler could be seen as better. The way he moves his feet is beautiful, but its busier. I just think the approach leaves room for people to critique it
