This Wilder/Joshua situation has me thinking about one thing...

Please don't come in here being a fan boy, listen up.
Let's say you have one boxer and their side claiming to want a fight with fighter b, they're all in the media crap talking fighter b. Fighter b is trying to make the fight happen as much as possible, but fighter a and his side is crap talking guy, throwing him under the bus about ducking while making negotiations possible. Why has no boxer ever sued from the b position fighter a? Isn't that potential loss of earnings and slander? If you make it seem like someone is hard to do business with in a business setting, when they can prove it's your fault. why has no boxer/or promoter successfully sued for that? This isn't about Wilder/Joshua it's just the latest example, but this stuff has always happened in boxing

I think actually proving the loss of earnings could be tough.

No, you can't sue someone because a fight didn't get made. No boxer ever has and no boxer ever will. Such a law suit would be thrown out and the party suing might even get fined for wasting the court's time. I am no lawyer but common sense tells me such a lawsuit would go nowhere.

You need to have a signed contract before being able to demonstrate a loss of earnings case. Even if you do, it's still difficult to do so at times. Plus if you do, you're gonna piss off some people. For example, Golovkin probably could have sued Canelo for getting popped for PEDs and won a couple of mill. But that would pretty much guarantee that their rematch would never get made.

That sort of lawsuit wouldn’t even make it to the car park of any court, before the wind blows it away.
