... it would be very sad if it happens like this...

On the other hand great if Briedis manages to annihilate Gassiev. Then Usyk fans have the right to mock Gassiev supporters for supporting a guy who fought only poor opposition.

Sure, it's pretty unprofessional, but can't Usyk's guys arrange their own travel and hotels? It's within their capacity, surely. Use your initiative, soldier!

But they can't organize their own security in a country where the chant "Glory to Ukraine" is understood as Anti-Russian extremism.Keep in mind thats a fight with a political message and Russians will do as much as possible so that Team Usyk feels uncomfortable. Also don't be surprised to hear in a few weeks that Gassiev is tested positive for using PEDs in that fight. Russians always play dirty games and Povetkin was on PEDs in the Charr,Takam,Perez,Wach fights until VADA moved in.

I would have liked to watch Usyk vs Gassiev, but not set up in Moscow... It's normal to have the rightful finalists fighting for the prize money -- and not some substitutes emerging from behind the scene...

Yes sadly no other can afford to host it except Jeddah/Saudi Arabia. There were talks of Germany & England but this fight doesn't sell there. It would sell only in New York and they didn't chose this location ?

Plus Briedis would be indeed a very very tough fight for Gassiev. Its a 50/50 fight.

It's WBSS responsibility to manage things -- in case this fight falls trough at this stage, then I guess it will be a very bad sign for the next season...

Its deliberately wanted by Russian organizers.Like I said in the last comments they want it to make as uncomfortable as possible for Usyk and they will wait until deadline so that frustrated Usyk can travel in the last second. Also during fight week there will be a lot provocations at the press conference, weigh in and fight itself against Usyk.
