I think the difference though is Manny still has a contract with Arum right now. So manny can self promote but if he goes trying to get other promoters to promote him then he will have Arum suing him.

Unkee Bob sure is concerned about Manny now isn't he? Geez, Arum is close to Don King sleaze level, totally unconcerned about Pac or his future. And I'd imagine there will be found some really slimy deals Bob did to skroo over Manny after Bob is dead. So even if Manny doesn't make all that much money as his own promoter... he's still better off than his was with Bob. Especially the past few years with him.

Basically Manny needs a Richard Schaefer, or Al Haymon, or a Leonard Ellerbe! That shouldn't be that hard to find! Bob might think it's crazy, but both Oscar and Floyd made a lot more money than Manny did, so why wouldn't Manny try to go it alone? His only problem is trying to promote himself @ 39!

It's a little late in the game for Pac to make this decision. If he wanted to be his own promoter he should have after the Bradley fight at latest. Now, he's on the extreme tail-end of his career and isn't in a place where mistakes can be made, and there will be mistakes when trying something so new.

It’s as if Arum feels like he HAS to cash in on Manny one last time by feeding him to the lions. Arum has shown his true colors. He has no loyalty to his fighters and only cares about the bottom line.

I never meant GGG was with Top Rank, the idea is the results of self-promotion vs professional ("true") promotion from the career start.

Manny tried to get bookkeepers to look after his money. But you made him fire them, Bob.
