Thurman hasn't fought in almost 2 years. Not surprising he got stripped.

I like Thurman but he changed, wtf happened to this dude he used to go out there saying I aint like those dudes holding that 0, I dont care about my 0, and one time this and that, then he started boxing cautious and going to decisions rather than going for the KO and then started saying we need to fight a tune up and this and that.

Right now I say the top Welterweights are Crawford, Spence

What happened to Thurman happens to a lot of fighters. When reaching the top, he was hungry. Once he got there he became a businessman. He got spoiled by the money. When the well runs dry, he will be back, just like how Peter Quillin is coming back.

I told everyone this was going to happen weeks ago!!!!!

My goodness, all you idiots must really be blind. The writing was on the wall and incredibly clear. Thurman hasn't fought in 16 months and has nothing scheduled. Somehow Matthysse has a regular "title" and somehow Pac is the #1 ranked contender.

Everyone could have just listened to me and known this was going to happen weeks ago. But now, idiots want to act surprised. I should get a 100 points added to my rep for telling everyone what was going to happen weeks ago. When apparently no one else knew the obvious.

That is exactly what happened. He made money, now is content.

it going to be a long road till we see thurman in a legit fight again he will be fighting average opposition and likely won't be facing anyone top 3 fighter till around late 2019

welterweight division has been on hold for too long just make the big fights already ffs

                    ?!?!?!

Thurman didn't suddenly become a worse fighter, it is that he finally fought elite competition.

Crawford has yet to do that. So, honestly, Thurman could have continued ko'ing the bum of the month and be considered a beast, but since he decided to take on elite opponents he is suddenly average.

People wonder why the best don't fight the best more in boxing. It is because of this. If you ko a cab driver you are p4p. If you win a close fight against another elite fighter, you are just average.

Look at Broner. He fought bums and was on p4p lists. Then he stepped up and fought elite opponents and lost.

As long as fans keep saying how great a fighter is for ko'ing tomato cans and complaining how "average" fighters who beat top opposition are, then of course we get blatant mismatches. What incentive do fans give fighters to fight the best??? Fight the best and if you win, but its close, you are average and off p4p lists. But if you never fight anyone good, and look like Superman while facing the local Uber driver, fans proclaim you as a top p4p fighter in the sport!

Put Thurman in with Horn and Indongo, and I bet he suddenly becomes elite again.
