Comments Thread For: Warren Says Quigg Overpriced Himself For Frampton Rematch

Frank Warren, the promoter for former two division world champion Carl Frampton, had some choice words when it came to former beltholder Scott Quigg. Back in 2016, Frampton won a twelve round split decision over Quigg in their super bantamweight unification.

Quigg is a typical Eddie Hearn/Missmatchroom fighter asking for too much money, always putting roadblocks in front of big-fights.

When was the last time Frank Warren worked with the Hearns? I thought they had a beef.

Say what you want but there’s no way you can convince me this Luke Jackson fight is bigger than a Quigg rematch

Quigg just missed weight and lost. He should be begging like a dog. But besides that I have no interest in seeing him rematch guys. Fight someone like Mares.

            Jackson is cheaper to pay.

That's all this boils down to.

Taking Warren's word with a pinch of salt.

No one wants to see that. The first one was boring enough.

I doubt Frampton wants to fight Quigg again, so doubt we'll see the rematch. Frampton knows that the first fight was tough and that he benefitted from Quigg being so cagey and nervous in the early rounds. This let Frampton jab his way to a very solid foundation early in the fight which was ultimately the difference between the two fighters.

Quigg and his team would be unlikely to make that same mistake twice and I think Frampton knows that a fight with Quigg would be difficult, against someone who isn't going to raise Frampton's own profile in any way.

If Frampton thought he could dominate Quigg or beat him easily then I'm sure he would take the fight due to the money that it would generate, but I don't think he sees the money that Quigg would bring as worth the risk to his profile in the event of a loss which is a little too possible for Frampton's liking.
