I never realized Wilder had so many opponents on his resume that weren't fully fledged heavyweights. Hatman highlights this in his vid above and then goes on to compare what Wilder and AJ had achieved fight after fight and puts out some good points.

For all of Wilder's talk AJ has been the one consistently challenging himself and fighting better opponents. I think even the most die-hard Wilder fan can agree that AJ has fought better opposition, which begs the question of why some fans think Joshua is a coward?

Coward is too far, but it's clear as day that Hearn/Joshua didn't really want that fight next.

The plan was to get the pub, offer Wilder short money (since "all the money is in the UK"), have Wilder say no to the short money, and fight Povetkin instead, before maybe fighting Wilder after ithay.

Wilder's camp shows up with $50m for Joshua, and the plan goes to ****.

Easiest way of looking at it is that anyone who sits behind a keyboard calling professional boxers cowards is either a child, an idiot or a coward themselves. I just dismiss each and every poster that comes out with that kind of drivel as not worth bothering about and try and converse with the adults instead.

whoever you want to blame in the end we got strung along and disappointed and that's the reason for the finger pointing. It would be spiteful to wish that Joshua or Wilder loses before April 2019 but if it doesn't happen in 2019 then fans will become more bitter about it. Pretty much.

They didn't count on the 50 million and they damn sure didn't count on it being real.

They pretty much assured that either it will be at least 60/40 when it happens in the UK or 50/50 in Vegas.

They costs themselves money on purpose.

The question folks need to ask is this: what is worth more to Hearn and AJ than the money they just willingly passed on?

if he dodged the wilder fight he is more likely a marinator, the fight is marinating until next year or a ducker

he ducked the fight to make some more cash possibly, hearn got in his ear and said it make more sense next april or there is something else making the fight difficult, like wilder acting like a beyonce wilder and demanding 'a side' privileges

If Joshua takes the fight now, and gets knocked out, then everyone will question Hearn saying Why did you take the fight now? Why not let it marinate while Joshua gets more experienced? Because he is taking Povetkin first, that opened the door for Warren to question him over that. So only time will tell what will happen next.

not sure what wilders past opponents, or who he fought in his 21st fight has to do with him vs aj. its clear aj would have taken the 50mil without hearn. hearn didn't want the risk of wilder for a next fight which is understandable but the way he went about it and the way aj was hushed up after the 50mil statement made him look bad. its just not a good look no matter how u slice it.

They're usually mentioned in response to people comparing Joshua unfavourably with Wilder and implying that he lacks courage and ambition in his choices of opponents. Given that Wilder's resume is very poor, that he's fought twice as many times as Joshua and there's a startling lack of top rated opponents, even after he won his belt it's pertinent to make the comparison.

Unless you have a seat within Team Joshua it's impossible to say this with any certainty.
