The more I watch the Ruiz-Parker fight, the more rounds I give to Ruiz.

I am quite certain that Ruiz would beat the likes of Whyte, Chisora and maybe other fringe top-10 heavyweights like Takam.

The taller guys like both Furies, Joshua, Wilder and someone like Pulev with an excellent jab would probably be able to coast to a victory based purely on physical attributes. But most of the average-size heavyweights (i.e. 6'4 and below), I think he'd be really tough work for.

Jarrell Miller is an interesting one. Really not sure where to rate him.

Ruiz arguably beat Joseph Parker.

I know. Ruiz could probably outbox most in the division (bar the likes of Wilder/Joshua due to huge reach advantage) but I just don't see him being able to stop many people... thus in my view he's going to have problems against anyone that can take what he throws and has the power to hurt him. Maybe my view of Whyte is being tinted by his highlight reel ko of Browne but I do feel that Whyte has the power to hurt him.

I am extremely unconvinced about Whyte. He almost died fighting an old Chisora. He couldn't hurt a stationary Helenius or an elderly Chisora. Ruiz would be much harder to hit than those 2 guys in those fights.

His signature fight is against Browne,.... FFS lol . There is absolutely nothing in his boxing history to suggest he is an above average fighter or warrant his status as a top 10 of anything.

I'm not overly convinced about Whyte either, but I disagree that Ruiz would be harder to hit than Helenius was. Helenius was there to survive, Ruiz on the other hand is a come forward fighter who throws lots of punches so there would be plenty of opportunity to hit him. I don't doubt that Ruiz would come out on top of most exchanges but he'd fade over time and gradually get broke down in my opinion.

I didn't think Ruiz beat Parker, if I remember correctly. I stayed-up late to watch that live from Australia, but I remember wishing I had just gone to bed instead. It was not a great fight, and neither guy looked good. Ruiz is too out-of-shape, and his arms are too short. He could be an interesting contender if he'd actually start fighting other contenders, but I don't expect him to win any world titles or make a real impact. Best of luck to him tho.

Agree with most of that. helenius took the whyte fight on 5 days notice. Which is why he completely gassed and just lay on the ropes for most of the fight.

No doubt you can question some of his opponents, Browne especially who was in no shape whatsoever but I think you do a disservice to Del Boy. He was, 32? Maybe 33? I know he blows hot and cold, but when he's up for it as he was against Whyte then I think he'd be a handful for anyone in the division.

Surely Ruiz means he's getting fatter because there's no sign of him getting better. Because he was just taken 10 rounds by a shot Kevin Johnson who was stopped by a 10 fight novice not too long ago with one left hook.

Maybe I am alone, but I would see this fight as a slow as molasses snooze fest. Maybe Miller catches him and gets a KO, but otherwise a ton of plodding around and some telegraphed slow motion punching.

Neither of these guys do I find that entertaining in the ring. Miller is a blast out of it. Just ask him something and sit back and enjoy. But in the ring? With Ruiz??? I will read about it the next day.

Miller isn't even a big puncher and Ruiz has a good chin. I don't know that much about Miller's chin but Ruiz has better snap in his punches and he's got some fast hands and good combinations. If somebody gets KO'd it's probably Miller.

I'd like to see this fight but I don't think Miller would be interested. It's a dangerous fight against a fighter that I'm sure he views as a step back in his career at this point. Miller wants the bigger name now.

**Don't get me wrong, I like Parker, his conduct especially, and as he was coming up I appreciated a Samoan boxer that actually has a jab, but you gotta call it like it is and Lance Revill did.
