    As BoxingScene.com previously reported, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) ordered their junior flyweight world champion, Hekkie Budler, to make a mandatory defense against Felix Alvarado. There was a purse bid held on Thursday, with only one bidder in the race, Sampson Boxing.

      Wonderful news! 'El Gemelo' actually gets his shot at the unified-champeen! I was disappointed that Felix didn't get it on with Ryoichi Taguchi but I'm sure given the close fight Taguchi had with Hekkie we might still see it ; these three can have like a round-robin if the title exchanges hands again -- tough defense for Budler.

        so nobody thought this is a $26 000 fight! challenger's cut is just over 6K, after trainer,coach,manager,promoter,boxing license,taxes,what the hell is this guy fighting for?

              I'd imagine he'll drop the IBF rather than risk his health and safety for peanuts. His own team didn't even submit a bid.

                Was there no minimum bid required by the IBF? $25,000 for a world title fight, regardless of weight, is insulting to the fighters.
