So with Payano confirmed, I'm guessing that gives us 2 possibilities now. Oubaali and Chipitanna both get in and that fight for the vacant title is a first round matchup, or Inoue and Aloyan get the last 2 spots. I'm leaning towards the latter

Inoue now confirmed, leaving 1 spot left in the 118 tournament, probably going to Aloyan. I also believe that Tete/Payano will be set as the first round matchup, leaving Inoue and Burnett to pick between Aloyan and DonaireComment

I was listening to a podcast last night (fight Disciples). They were talking about the 3rd weight class. They were only discussing rumours, but one host was saying that he had heard it will be CW again and it will be announced ringside after the CW final on Saturday.
The other guy said he'd heard it was LHW and the winner of the SMW tournament would be entering as number 1 seed.
That second rumour sounds a bit iffy to me. Well, the bit about the SMW champion returning anyway.Comment

If I'm not mistaken, last series the winner of fight 1 took on the winner of 3. The winner of 2 took of the winner of 4.
If so, and if it's the same set up for this series, there will be a semi final of Burnett Vs Tete should they both win their first round fight.
2 of the 140 fights are already made. So with Prograis being the number 1 seed he get to pick first...Martin or Flanagan. Taylor fights whoever is left from those two.Comment
