I doubt it's even that; Joe Tessitore was on national TV, spending a good 40 minutes, trying to convince the world that Lenny Z and Saucedo were in the fight of the year, when that hasn't even been the best fight on ESPN this year, nevermind anywhere else.

Top Rank is the same company that's deliberately slowwalking the Ramirez-Prograis fight at the same time that rush Stevenson-Gvozdyk.

Joe Tessitore is a company man, but when it was just him and Teddy Atlas on commentary, he was left free to call the action that was in front of him. Through the drudge that was Friday Night Fights, with excitement when the content was upgraded with PBC, and even the start of the Top Rank deal (Joe, Teddy, and Tim could've jelled into being a really good team).

Teddy Atlas gets fired, and it becomes absolutely clear that he's no longer sitting with his friend, calling fights, so he adjusts accordingly.
