Comments Thread For: Golovkin Promoter: Canelo Has To Actually 'Fight' This Time!

Tom Loeffler, promoter for IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs), says Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) will have to "fight" in the upcoming rematch. In the first contest, the two boxers fought to a controversial twelve round split draw.

O shut the fuck up, so you saying ggg didnt fight either? GGG looked like a shadow of himself in there, was afraid to push the issue on the ropes, was hesitant to let his bombs fly lol, hope GGG shows up to fight this time.

I have to agree, GGG was reluctant to go in on him at times, although he was the constant aggressor.

If clenello didn’t take as much time off during rounds he would have waited won, he lost the fight in my eyes

There’s many things that could have been, thinking Canelo was juiced and therefore way stronger could be one of it. GGG didn’t have anything to worry about though, if a juiced Canelo couldn’t floor him with an on the chin shot, what the ****s is a clean one gonna do.

The way I see it though is money, fighters never get the full purse, so gov takes half, team takes some, etc. I think a rematch was always wanted.

However, if indeed GGG has slowed, aged, shadow of himself as you say—and has been gingers plan all along. The a Juiced Canelo still should have lost to a shadow of GGG. He better hope that shadow is the one who shows up the next fight.

More conspiracy theory talk. Why not blame the Russians sabotaging GGG while you are at it.

Maybe that was his intention all along to let it get to the cards so he gets another payday.

Shrewd businessman or not as good as we hoped?

Canelo looking smaller lately, just saying. I'm still gonna give him the benefit of doubt. Fight night will answer all the questions

Loefflers just coming out with the same old rhetoric. I'd like to see some real spite like "if canelo would actually fight us as savagely as he claims we will leave him looking like a cartel victim etc etc"
