Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Ready: We've Covered Everything For Matthysse Fight!

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao believes his body and mind is ready for the showdown with World Boxing Association "regular" welterweight world champion Lucas Matthysse. The contest is less than two weeks away, as Pacquiao will be departing to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - where the contest is scheduled to take place on July 15 [July 14 in the United States] at the Axiata Arena in that Malaysian capital.

Pac has always been a sucker for that right hand and every fight Ive seen him in, hes always been nailed with it multiple times. I just recently watched the 2nd fight he had against Barrera & noticed a few things. 1. Pac used to lunge face 1st like a motherfvvcker & take a punch just to land a few of his own. Nowadays he stops and resets when he get hit with somehting. 2. He used to throw with real bad intentions whereas today he seems to throw with caution for the most part.

Im excited for this 1. I don't think Matthysse is shot like most are saying definitely past his prime for sure but I just think guys like Kiram and Postol (tall, long reach and good movement) are just his kryptonite and when hes unable to use his power he gets frustrated and folds

his style is what makes the right so easy to land. because he's always searching and moving forward. it's hard to avoid punches when you're also moving into the punches.

if he waits and let his opponent come to him instead then this will limit him getting tag but we all know this is not his style.

Let me know if I am wrong, Pacquiao is on his own pretty much since he is trying to maximize his profits,no arum, no roach, overseas fight(taxes), etc, in case he loses,he wants to make as much money as possible, now, if he wins, I think he will do the same, because if he fights someone ,with a big name, not crawford(he is not there yet as a name goes IMO)but for example, call me crazy, Canelo,he will be able to do another 50 mill and call it quits

That’s right, according to Philstar.com, Pac’s adviser Mike Koncz said Pac is bound to earn more than what he did for his 3 previous fights against Bradley ($20 million), Vargas (4 million) and Horn (10 million). Koncz said the offer they received from Malaysian investors was tremendous and very hard to refuse. If he wins, a super fight with another old legend like Marquez or Mayweather will bring a lot of money but I guess he wants to fight Lomachenko next.
