Tommy Morrison hit Ray Mercer with huge shots early on but failed to pace himself and got caught, leading to one of the most brutal KO losses in boxing history.

Sugar Ray Leonard chose to fight Roberto Duran toe-to-toe in their first bout, thinking he could run over him since he was the bigger man. However, things didn't work out that way at all.

the one that sticks out to me was cotto margarito 1. cotto did too much bouncing around. was great for the 1st 6 rds but no way could he maintain that and he gassed himself. a simple tweak and voila. easy rematch.

Mayweather was too content on standing his ground and getting mauled by Maidana for way too long in the first fight. Golovkin gave Canelo and Jacobs (to a lesser extent) way too much respect. It seemed like he was to respectful of both their punching power. And finally, Kovalev sitting on the ropes waiting for the ref to step in and save him. This last one wasn't really a strategy but it cost him the fight.

Most of Adrian Broner's recent fights. The guy spends so much time backing off and trying to shoulder roll and counter trying to emulate Floyd, but that's not what he is. He needs to realise that he's a slugger, he should be the one pressing the action, not backing off towards the ropes like he did vs. Mikey Garcia. He could have won that fight if he was willing to let his hands go and press right from the beginning instead of when the fight was already lost on the scorecards. I'm not sure if it's his desire to be the next Floyd or the beating he took from Maidana that's more responsible for this.

Jerry Quarry vs Jimmy Ellis
Quarry tried to be slick and box Jimmy Ellis, who defensively was a all time great, very slick, Quarry should’ve brawled with Ellis.
Than in the Joe Frazier fight he decides he’s gonna brawl with Joe, it’s has to be the worst strategy ever in 2 Heavyweight championship bouts, I feel Quarry if he boxed Frazier would’ve had a great chance to win, certainly better than trying to **** with Frazier. Jerry Quarry might’ve been the the worst guided heavyweight fighter ever.
He was at his best when trained by the legendary Gil Clancy, with great wins over Mac Foster and Ernie Shavers
