Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Matthysse Fight May Be The End of Pacquiao

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya feels confident that Lucas Matthysse will end the career of eight division champion Manny Pacquiao, 39-years-old, when they meet on July 15 (July 14 in America) in Kuala Lumpur Lumpur, Malaysia. They will battle for Matthysse's "regular" welterweight championship of the World Boxing Association.

You would love to, huh, Oscar? You still have flashbacks of that night in which Pacquiao kicked the shìt out of you to send you back to fishnets and stilettos once and for all, right?

lol what do you expect him to say? He's Matthysse's promoter. He would look extremely ****** if he said Matthysse was going to lose. It isn't a question of being bitter, he's just doing his job. All promoters hype up their fighters.

It's the "end his career" bit that makes me think that way.

Had De La Hoya just told "Matthysse will surely beat Pacquiao" I would not have thought about his nightmares.

Manny vs DLH is my favorite fight of all time. It was nice to see a fighter humbled in the ring by a smaller opponent. Never underestimate Manny. This fight has the potential to be a great fight.

That's a good point. I don't think anybody would disagree that Lucas has the power to knock out Pacquiao though. He's washed up but he still has that punch.
