Damn, it's an unseasonably warm spring. Good to see GBP celebrating April Fools in this fine weather. I figured everyone would be at the beach or something.

He's definitely willing to put those guys in tough fights. No doubt about that. The Canelo stuff is another story though lol

I've noticed that Floyd doesn't mind putting his guys in tough fights either. Makes you wonder a bit because both stables have took some tough losses over the last few years. Lol

        Canelo/Trout
        Matthysse/Pacquoia
        Jojo/GR Jr.

        Canelo/Mayweather
        And many other great fights!
It's true. See my post above. Do you think it has something to do with them being past greats? Floyd and Oscar both seem to push their guys toward opportunities. But it hasn't necessarily been a wise direction for the stables.

***There has been a fair amount of cherry picking for Canelo but there are some financial considerations there that would be silly to overlook.

I have to agree with almost everything you said. And think you are right on the money for the most part except for the comment about Canelo. I think they've guided him correctly but even some of my favorite fighters have took some easy fights including Floyd and Oscar.

But to answer you question. I think it's because Oscar and Floyd knowwhat it takes to be on top.

As far as it doesn't always go well for them, I have to agree to some point. The casuals don't like to see anyone take a loss but I don't mind. As long as they fight everyone and take that risk. Some of Golden Boy fighters recently loss and I have became a huge fan of theirs for making those fights happen.

Good for Oscar, he aint lying, he's doing an excellent job. The Golden Boy took on ALL challenges in his heyday, so it's only fitting he gets it right with his company....Respect to the man!!

He needs to shut up, promoters are the reason fans aren't seeing the best fights made these days. It's all about greed, they turned boxing into the WWE.
