Wilders absolutely right, that ****** app will fail because he'll be trying to attract the same existing boxers already looking for shine on an already established network. Why would they sign on with the newest greedy thing for a greedy pompous promoter only looking to line his already fat greedy pockets.....whats the incentive? Fighting on a foreigners greedy pet project app(?), with less pay and less shine? AMERICA knows Team-Hearn is all about promoting himself and his mute gutless golden goose robot - so it'll ultimately fail!!
Yeah but there are better US apps available right now. ESPN+ and Showtime show boxing via app. There's no incentive to go to a European startup that doesn't have the distribution of the US providers.
ESPN has access to 91 million homes in the US (no numbers on app subs yet)
Showtime is in over 30 million US households (and have over 4 million app users)
DAZN has about 200k global subscribers
ESPN+ is $5, but offers you documentaries relevant to American sports and they have a nice historic fight catalog. DAZN is $20 and you only get Matchroom and Bellator fights(That I know of right now).
Can't see it being worth it at that price tag. I saw enough people complaining about paying $5 to watch Crawford. Whose gonna pay $20 to watch Prospects and Match Room tough mans?
... maybe because streaming is the future in entertainment?... why do you think that, out of the blue, Showtime endorsed that $50 ($100) million offer?... they know what is coming...
As long as fighters are getting paid to be aired on the tried-and-true networks, to throw that away for an upstart app adventure is risky.
