Curious why you are "hoping" that Matchroom USA signs some "big names".

Do you live in the US? If so, the "big names" are already fighting on free TV. Eddie's plans are to put his US fighters on an app and charge (at least) $20 per month!

Just remember though, in the past few interviews, Eddie has clearly stated that he has signed "3-4 world champions" in addition to "all the top contenders" as well as "the very best from the Team USA amateur team." I personally don't believe him (especially the 3-4 world champions as that is not subjective). Let's just wait to see how he does, as he has clearly stated before he plans to sign all the best US fighters...and thus far he hasn't accomplished anything of note here. Even Jacobs is fighting in front of smaller crowds than when under Haymon. Matchroom USA=complete flop.

Let's see what the matchups are first.

We have rumors of 8 participants in the 140lb tournament (and two of the first-round fights), have rumors for 4 of the participants in the 118lb tournament, and absolutely no information on the third tournament.

You add that the first US show rumored has been ChavezJr-Rosado (with, I believe this being the third press release for an announcement to announce that the fighters signed will be known at a future date), and my expectations for the US shows being remotely worth watching aren't that high.

Beyond that, even counting the Joshua PPVs, does Matchroom Sport put on 16 shows in the UK actually worth watching in a year? Khan-LoGreco was **** and Khan-Vargas doesn't look much better, and the draw for most of the shows are British-level matchups anyway.

Joshua, Brook, Bellew for two dates a year (Brook might get you 3), Callum Smith if he can beat George Groves, Katie Taylor, and then you're basically done with headliners under the Matchroom Sport banner. Between those 5, you might have 12 shows.

Having all that content is great, but folks aren't going to tune in for **** content.

Eddie is in trouble is what I read from this. People who invest a billion dollars in something expect a huge return. If he is not signing A listers that won't happen
