Comments Thread For: Joshua-Wilder: We'll Probably Get a Fight, Might Miss a Rivalry

By Cliff Rold - No one should be shocked. They shouldn't even be all that surprised. After the requisite social media bantering, the trash talk, the competing offers' for a showdown, this fall the boxing world looks forward to not Anthony Joshua-Deontay Wilder. The fight the most fans seem to want, the clash with the most at stake, the showdown that can put the stamp on the return of the heavyweights to the top of the food chain?...

Oh hell nah, this writer is encouraging the earliest Joshua-Wilder to happen is Fall of 2019.

For me, my time line of patience was either by the fall of this year or spring of next year the latest.

Hopefully it happens in April. F uck waiting until the Fall of 2019.

One of them will lose before the fight happens I think. Joshua could lose against povetkin and wilder could lose if he fights someone decent under the age of 48

AJ could easily make the fight, just fly to USA and make more money and earn more credos for stepping outside his mummy's front door in London.

Have a rematch clause so it's home and away, London is small beer , yes it fills a stadium and hypes up English media but it's not got the world appeal of a historic Vegas fight, the home of heavyweight boxing.
                  I'm a neutral passport btw

Startled to read Bert Cooper's name in an article for once. My man!

As I've air raided about before, the romantic, fairytale story of an undisputed Heavyweight champion or undisputed champions in any weight class will, and perhaps already is, beyond reality.

Of course, strange things can happen and one would think a Wilder-Joshua fight would have to be a great affair as long as it happens while they're still young, but I think back to Holyfield v Lewis which, of the two fights is far from memorable.
Sure, the difference between them physically was notable, but their talent and will was top notch.

Last year we were supposed to be entering a revival, a renaissance of sorts, after years of stagnation in the so-called glamour division, but there always seems to be something like a spanner always looming. Maybe so, maybe not as the proverb goes.
