A unification showdown between three-belt world champion Joshua and Wilder has been put on hold after the Brit was ordered to fight Alexander Povetkin by the WBA.

Wilder has reacted furiously to the latest developments and accusations from the Joshua camp that claim the American never had any intention of signing the contract.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn believes Wilder was bluffing through-out talks, but the heavyweight champion has dismissed those allegations.

‘It was simple. The two things were simple. How can you send a contract to anybody when you don’t have no date on there?’ Wilder said on ‘The Boxing Voice’ podcast.

‘Nor do you have a venue up in there. He’s sending the contract saying ‘Just sign it’. And then another thing that was up in there was talking about if I beat Joshua he gets a rematch, but if he beats me then it’s up to him to decide if there was a rematch.

‘Nah, it’s either going to [both of us having rematch clauses] or none at all. There is going to a rematch or no rematch at all. It’s crazy.

‘How you going to send a contract like that? It was simple things that they could not answer. It ain’t that they couldn’t, it’s that they wouldn’t.

Reminds me of the Canelo-Golovkin deal.

Canelo had a rematch clause if he lost, Golovkin didn't have a rematch clause if he lost.

Lucky for us, the fight was made anyway.

I don't think these type of deals are fair, but it's typical boxing politics at its best.

Understood. But there is no reason under the sun why Wilder should give AJ a rematch clause if he does not get one himself. It is like the superbowl - win or go home. AJ cannot get all he wants - he is a cowardly idiot who wants to eat his cake and have it.

Eddie Hearn's plan went perfect as planned, any real boxing fan knows Hearn never wanted AJ to fight Wilder next and planted the seeds for a fight with Povetkin since the beginning..
But this is the game they want to play, So FCK IT. Wilder take whatever little bullshyt they want to give you and sleep this MFKer!

Hell naw!!! Forget all that April 13th BS I don't care for the AJ-Wilder fight lol I learned from the May Pac fight not to get hyped up for marinating fights!! The only fight I agree with marinating is the Spence Crawford fight (though I'm still 50/50 about that sh**) because casual fans don't know those guys outside of that fights need to be made ASAP!! I'm going for Povetkin even though he's old hopefully he has enough in the tank to drop AJ boring @$$ lol with AJ holding the belts it's almost a glimpse of the Klitschko days.. I'd rather see Klitschko come back than AJ at this point lol..... Maybe....🤔

Go Povetkin with your cheating steroids using @$$!! Don't let me down!! Lol 💪💉

He tried to but Team-Hearn wants no part of this skinny dude. A younger PEDveton blew his chances with Wilder too when he tested positive, so now the robot gets a cleaner version of the past cheat that Wladimir Clinch-ko beat in a lopsided points victory....

Myself I have no reservations for either side. I have no idea what went on in negotiations and I'm not going to choose sides.

But Super Fights like these Mayweather-Pacquiao, Canelo-Golovkin and now Joshua-Wilder.

We've seen this on again, off again negotiations for those fights. It's typical for these type of big fights.

I just want to see it finally. Hopefully by the new proposed April 13th date we all can see it.

Every fan wants to see it and boxing needs it.

I have faith and have a feeling we will finally see it April 13th.

and he said that he sent an offer for next year.... when did that happen?

                  Last night supposedly.

The offer is $5 million for Wilder to fight anyone of his choice this fall in any U.S. venue Wilder chooses and a fight with Joshua for $15 million April 13th at Wembley Stadium.

It's a proposed $20 million dollar offer in total.

But something tells me this will drag on longer. Though I am hopeful and have a feeling that the fight will finally happen April 13th.

I don't think we will see it on April 13th. Wilder took the lowball only for this year. He is not going to take that again. It is a fresh negotiation. Disgraceful and lying Eddie wants to continue with the same negotiation when Wilder conceded on everything. That's not gonna happen. Wilder fans are fine not having the fight anymore if Wilder is not accorded his due respect. 40% at minimum for the UK - no ****** flat fees or that shameful and disgraceful cowardly act from the juicer and his drug man, Eddie.
