Klitschko had a rematch clause when he lost to Joshua, and didn't even own a belt. Why shouldn't Wilder get a rematch clause if he loses?

That’s because AJ wasn’t the A-side in the klitschko fight, their purse was 50/50, and prior to the fight,,klitschko had a rematch in place with Fury only to suffer from 2 pullouts from Fury so the governing bodies probably felt obliged.

It was the same for Canelo/GGG last year, prior to their fight there was a rematch clause in place but only for if Canelo lost, A side privileges I’m afraid it’s not a rare occurrence.

Why this dunce continues to play with everybody, I have no idea. Wilder has already said AJ won't get another 50 million dollar offer, and he won't agree to the same terms again either.

So until hearn is serious about negotiating, and by serious, I mean nobody will know they're negotiating, the fight isn't happening.

Why should wilder sign an offer for a fight that won't happen till next April. Wilder and his team should tell AJ and Hearn to **** off right now and they could talk after they each have their next fight. This was Hearn's plan all along, to have Wilder sign a contract with no date and claiming that the venue won't be available till next year so that in the mean time they could have an interim fight, while hoping Hearn could have Wilder fight on DAZN his next fight. Team Wilder would be ****** to sign a contract write now for that flat fee when the fight will be worth more next year.

Because it'll be Wilder's highest payday by a significant margin and more importantly because winning it will put Wilder at the top of the heap. The risk of being underpaid for this fight should be worth the reward of being one of the most marketable names in the world of sport.

I take your point - the April offer is quite shifty from Hearn, he knows that the Wilder Joshua fight will be worth more after each of them have another fight, so $15m will represent less as a percentage of the revenue come April. But **** it - team Wilder has got AJ and Hearn where they want them, sign the contract, beat AJ, become king. That SURELY should be Wilder's plan.

Wilder will be a fool to sign that. No rematch for both sides or rematch for both with no conditions. That simple. The juicing and ducking fool wants to eat his cake and have it.

Reminds me of the Canelo-Golovkin deal.

Canelo had a rematch clause if he lost, Golovkin didn't have a rematch clause if he lost.

Lucky for us, the fight was made anyway.

I don't think these type of deals are fair, but it's typical boxing politics at its best.
