If the WBA is fed up, they'll schedule a purse bid. Scheduling a purse bid usually takes at least a week or two. Plenty of time to sign the Wilder fight. What they "know" and what's in the contract are two different things. Eddie could have put in the contract "at a venue to be determined on a date in October or November." He didn't do that. They waited and waited for a date until he finally admitted the date would be April 2019 and that they were fighting Povetkin first no matter what.

Because Hearn has already told Finkel they're fighting Povetkin next and the soonest their willing to fight Wilder is April 2019. So signing the fight today would obligate him to April 2019 as that is the date Eddie ended up picking.
