Kevin Cunningham is going to be a busy man on July 28th. The world class trainer has advised BoxingScene.com that the welterweight bout between former champions Devon Alexander (27-4-1) and Andre Berto will take place on the Mikey Garcia-Robert Easter Jr. lightweight unification card at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. I was looking forward to Benavidez vs Korobov. Thanks for messing that up, Bob.

Winner moves onto one more relevant fight and the loser needs to retire. Especially if it's Berto.

Berto has taken more than enough punishment in his career and he needs to move on if he loses.

5 years ago this would have been a main event, fast forward to current day both are the back 9 of their careers.

Crossroads fight man. Neither one is in position to challenge for a title. Might as well fight each other. I think it's more of a barometer to see where Alexander is at. He looked good in that Ortiz fight and was robbed. But then again it was Victor Ortiz so that's not saying much

Not bad. Competitive fight. Undercard will likely be better than main event.

Alexander looked alright against Ortiz and definitely won that fight. It seems like Berto should have called it quits after the Porter fight.
