How often does the trainer and promoter of the winning fighter say the scorecards were too wide? Good on the McGuigans for being honest and telling it like it is! When the winning camp is criticizing the judges for not giving their opponent credit, you know they are way off base! Something has to be done. I thought Taylor just sealed it with the KD but other than that, the fight was close as hell. The corruption in boxing is killing the sport and it needs to be addressed seriously and expulsions need to occur. Forget suspending these corrupt, incompetent judges, ban them from ever judging a pro bout again! This **** has to stop! Obviously the McGuingans weren't party to this injustice so who was? The BBBoC? The governing body? Somebody is responsible. There's no way all 3 judges were just that incompetent. A kid could've submitted more accurate score cards. There's no excuse for this garbage.

There is no reason they should be "reviewing" their scorecards for 10 minutes after a fight ends. Might not prevent everything but sure would help some. Boxing doesn't want any of this fixed though because they are all in on it.
Huh? The scoring problems are NOT an easy fix. It's institutional corruption not a few incompetent judges who are influenced by other judges because they are sitting too close to each other! Any judge who is half ways competent should be able to judge the fight accurately regardless of who they are sitting next too. Furthermore, don't they often have the judges on different sides anyways so different perspectives/angles are taken into account? Pro boxing needs a universal, overseeing neutral body to ensure the rules are being followed and no corruption takes place. As long as there are a multitude of governing bodies and commissions with their own set of rules and bias towards the local fighter and/or the A side/champion, this will never end.

I don't know about most crooked. He's definitely made some questionable decisions in the past but so has Howard Foster, Lawrence Cole, Shady Jay Nady, Tony Weeks (usually competent), Kenny Bayless, Lou Moret and Pat Russell among many others.

Let's hear it for Steve Smoger then. The only criticism of Steve is he lets them fight til the death. Dude ain't so keen on waving a fight off when sometimes it ought to be.

Trust me I get what your saying. And sure, what I suggested wouldn't help at all with a judge who is bias because he's being paid off or any other reason. But I don't think anything will help that. I mean when have you ever seen a neutral body actually be neutral in anything. I guess what my suggestion could help is when the fight ends and the 3 judges sit there and act like it takes 10 minutes to add their scores while colluding to make a fight a draw or whatever. Simply have them each score the round when it ends and immediately submit their score to someone else. Could be the announcers for all I care. But make it known and irreversible. But yeah, beyond that there's nothing that will ever change it, it's just to corrupt at this point.
