Comments Thread For: Steven Butler Drops, Stops Carson Jones in Seventh Round

Steven Butler put in a methodical performance that allowed him to stop dangerous veteran Carson Jones in the seventh round on Saturday night at the Montreal Casino in Montreal. Jones (40-14-3, 30 KOs) had already visited the mat on two occasions - in the fifth and sixth rounds - before referee Alain Villeneuve decided that he had seen enough at 50 seconds of the seventh.

Is anyone even interested in this kid, after the tantrum he threw when he suffered his first defeat? The only thing worse than his behavior was the way the crowed reacted, pelting the ring with debris. Some type of bucket was thrown, hitting Brandon Cook, the winning fighter from out-of-town, in the head.

Oh. Almost put money on Jones and then almost picked the fight to go the distance, but stayed away from it in the end. Glad I did

Carson needs to think about doing something else....he’s taken lots of punishment in his career.

Butler scored a knockdown with a jab. Butler throws way too wide of punches he'll get stopped again. best case for him is fighting someone who doesn't have much pop to sneak into the top 10 of his weight. He is only 22 so he could get better but he looks like a david lemieux who goes to night clubs during training camps and cuts weight in unhealthy ways.
