Comments Thread For: Spence Wants Legacy Like Leonard, Ali, Robinson, Mayweather

NEW YORK Errol Spence Jr. doesn't just want to be the best welterweight of the post-Mayweather era. The ambitious, unbeaten IBF 147-pound champion plans to establish a legacy over the next few years that'll elevate him into an elite class of fighters. The DeSoto, Texas, native figures if he can beat the Danny Garcia-Shawn Porter winner, Keith Thurman and Terence Crawford, and then move up to conquer the super welterweight division, he'll be remembered historically as Hall-of-Fame fighter with an irrefutable record.

Collecting all the belts at welterweight would be a good start

If Spence wants to make a "Pound-for-Pound" statement in 2018, there is a way...Erislandy Lara! I don't know if Lara would concede 2 pounds, but money talks! At 28, Spence is young enough to go fight Lara @ 154, and comeback to 147 for the Porter vs. Garcia winner! It's high risk, but it would be a legacy move!

this kid is acting real dumb. in order for him to fight all the great fighters ali leonard and robinson fought would take him 200 years just to fight the caliber of fighters robinson fought. spence could be KO'd (unlikely seeing the guys he fights and will fight) he could be injured shot arrested become an addict or lose interest.

Well fighting Crawford soon would be a good start if you are all about legacy. This kid complains about fighters ducking yet when there's a p4p level fighter in his division he goes cold on the idea of fighting him.
