  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: If Whyte Wins Big, The Joshua Rematch Has Huge Potential

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom has pegged Dillian Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) vs. Joseph Parker (24-1, 18 KOs) as a must-win encounter if either boxer is entertaining the idea of going for a world title in the immediate future. Their showdown is scheduled for July 28th at the O2 Arena in London.

Body Snatcher deserves a title shot already and Donkey Wilder will duck him for ever.

Good fight but Dillian isn't knocking Parker out. Best he can hope for is dodgy hometown scoring so I guess from that perspective he has a great chance.

Wilder has basically said that as well. let's face it if Wilder got in a fluke punch against AJ thats heavyweight boxing over, he'll be back to his old ways one top ten heavyweight per 40 fights and that was only because Showtime pressured him with Ajs success.

If Whyte can’t get him out early I don’t think he’s got much of a chance...Whyte has poor stamina, and Parker is a better boxer and 12 round fighter..
116-112, 115,113 type of scores for Parker

Hearn has been desperate to make this rematch, even when Whyte doesn't deserve it

Yeah Showtime told him to fight Ortiz or they won't show his fights any more. Try to tell that to his fans...

I don't understand why this isn't Whyte vs. Miller? I hope Hearn gets Big Baby a fight with King Kong Ortiz in NYC!

                June 7, 2018:

"Whyte never wanted to face Luis, his representatives knew that they would risk a lot by against an opponent who was better than him, with more boxing ability.''

By selecting Parker as the next opponent, Whyte is stepping away from his number one ranking with the WBC - so Ortiz (28-1, 24 KOs) will now be ordered to fight a new opponent for the mandatory shot at WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
