Comments Thread For: Billy Joe Saunders vs. James DeGale Being Explored For Sept. 15

Promoter Frank Warren is exploring the idea of matching two 2008 Olympic team-mates against each other on September 15th at the O2 Arena in London. Warren is looking at the possibility of having WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders move up in weight to challenge IBF super middleweight titlist James DeGale.

Saunders is not too far from a massive fight at MW against the winner of GGG vs Canelo so, why do this? He has plenty of time to move up in weight and it would be a mistake in my opinion.

Everyone wants a shot at DeGale right now as he's ripe for the picking. Not sure how good of a career move this is for him though, does he stay at 168 or try to get back down to 160? I think he's probably best off not jumping up and down

This is the kind of fight that fight Frank Warren needs to put on to kick start BT. But won't. Saunders is not a big MW and he can't afford to lose a champion from his stable (assuming DeGale continues his fight by fight agreement).

It would be more realistic to offer Eubank Jr to either of them.

At this stage of Degales career that's a bad move, Saunders is peaking and would box circles around chunky

Saunders gonna pull out. Is that means he's gonna drop his belt?
