Comments Thread For: Golovkin: Canelo Can't Look in My Eyes; He Knows I'm Correct

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin won't partake in a traditional tour to promote their upcoming middleweight championship rematch. All the controversy that has unfolded during the past three months has provided an enormous amount of free marketing and seemingly makes multi-city publicity stops to promote their HBO Pay-Per-View fight unnecessary. Oscar De La Hoya, Alvarez's promoter, told Yahoo! Sports in a video interview Monday that Alvarez is done doing interviews for now, even though he hasn't been made available since the deal was made Wednesday for Golovkin and Alvarez to fight again September 15 in Las Vegas.

These guys used to refer to eachother as friends.

    Then Clenelo cheated on Golovkin.

Neither guy talks enough trash to make the build up exciting. They'd be better off hiring spokesmen. Canelo can have Bellew and Golovkin can get Fury. Until then it's zzZZzz.

Is that what you need to be interested in a fight?? If so, then you're not a real boxing fan. Go watch UFC. You'll get plenty of ridiculous trash talkng there.

Maybe we should let the judges be part of the buildup? I mean, they obviously DO take sides. Let them review the first fight....

"Golovkin throws his right hand and misses. Therefore the fight goes to Canelo!"
"Did you see Canelo back peddle to the ropes like that? Exactly like Muhammad Ali! Another round to Canelo!"

"Real boxing fans" represent a very small amount of people who tune into fights, especially so when talking PPV. Not having a press tour feels disadvantageous if you ask me, but who knows. Truth has been stranger than fiction lately.

Oh really? There's not many in the UFC.

Yeah?? Have you watched the UFC build-up a fight? It's cartoonish. And I'm a fan of UFC. But they're way over the top with the trash talking. Dana White and the powers that be encourage it.

To be brutally honest, I never understood the logic behind Alvarez being angry with GGG through this whole ordeal.

And to further add insult to injury a whole sanctioning body backing the champion who attempted to cheat not once but twice .

                    The first part is true.

Not sure if having a press tour is going to matter. But they obviously have to do other things to keep the fight in the public's attention. The fight should do more than last time but how much I don't know. September is a hell of a busy time in the sports world with college football on Saturday and possibly MLB. Who knows what UFC is up to.
