Comments Thread For: Golovkin Promoter: Canelo Rematch Bigger Than Wilder-Joshua

Tom Loeffler, promoter for IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, feels very strongly that his fighter's upcoming rematch with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is the biggest fight in the sport. Last week, the two sides finalized a deal to stage the rematch on September 15th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo-GGG II will be big but nothing will top AJ-Wilder.

Fans are still annoyed at how timid and cautious both CANELO and GG were the 1st fight. A big HW fight will always outsell the smaller weights unless ur name is SUGAR RAY LEONARD or MAYWEATHER.

The first fight produced zero fireworks.

I have no interest in a rematch

I don't care for a Canelo-GGG rematch they built the first fight up to be this epic battle but it ended up leaving both GGG fans and Canelo fans feeling a little cheated by the outcome. Besides nobody even got hurt or put in any real adversity. The only drama happened after the fight with the scorecards. AJ and Wilder is definitely more interesting than the GGG and Canelo rematch I wouldn't be surprised if it did better numbers.
