Last Friday night at York Hall, Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce (5-0, 5 KOs) crushed Ivica Bacurin in the first round. Bacurian was a late replacement for Richard Lartey, who withdraw a few days before the contest with Joyce was scheduled. Back in May, Joyce destroyed Lenroy Thomas to win the Commonwealth heavyweight title as part of the undercard to the Tony Bellew-David Haye rematch at the O2 Arena in London.

Would be an interesting fight. I don't think Bryan would want to take the risk.

Joyce being a dangerous novice is scaring all the big boys off. Nobody wants to lose against a guy with a handful of fights.

You’ve gotta give it to Joyce. He’s slow and robotic. But he’s game for these fights and nobody really wants it.

            Joyce is a massive puncher.

He possess a colossal amount of energy behind every punch but he will lose against any smart boxer who moves around like Parker & Usky.

Joyce will knock out Jennings because Jennings loves phone boot type of fights.

I think it depends on physique aswell.

Hughie Fury massively outskills him but Joyce has strength and physique to more than match him in the clinches and as long as he cuts the ring off smart he's gonna force fighters to stand with him.

It's gonna take a unit like AJ/Miller/Tyson Fury to stop him or a ****er like Dubois or Wilder in early rounds.

Why not defend his Commonwealth title against Junior Fa or Simon Kean?

Would love to see this fight but feel Jennings won't want it. Say what you will about Joyce he doesn't lack self belief or ambition.

Jennings hasn't been doing much since he was KO'ed by Ortiz, having fought a few journeymen. At 33 he probably only has a couple of years where he could do anything, so he needs to do something to get his career back on track.

Joyce may not be that enticing an opponent but his options seem limited and he does need an opponent for the 18th August in Atlantic city. Hopefully this gets made.

If this fight happens and Joyce gets the W does that mean he becomes the old boogeyman of the division that everyone is scared to fight ?
