I disagree totally. I don't think Margarito has anything to gain by fighting a guy coming off of a loss to a jr welter. Margarito is on the verge of a huge opportunity with Mayweather, he needs to (with Arum's help) keep the pressure on Floyd and leave him no wiggle room. Forget about Collazo...

LOL, you make the same arguement others use for why PBF should not fight Margarito.

All you have to do is switch the names. I personally think that them fighting would be an interesting fight.

However is anyone else sick and tired of this underachieving jrWelterweight and Welterweight crop?

Really? Which jr welter did Margarito just lose to? I missed that fight.

Margarito lost a controversial fight stopped by a cut 2 years ago to a jr middleweight. Then has been impressive in his destruction of three solid fighters, one of which was a dangerous top-ranked contender. Slight difference? LOL Get a clue, dude.

Your argument is that Margarito gains nothing from fighting a dangerous Collazo, with a possible big fight with PBF waiting in the wings. Proponents for PBF say that the benefits of fighting Margarito are not worth the risk due to his "lack of house hold recognition" and that PBF doesn't gain any thing by fighting Margarito. They say that its not worth it with PBF having possible fights with Hatton, Cotto and DLH in the wings.

So you tell me in what way is your argument on why Margito shouldnt fight Collazo different than the one just stated by many PBF proponents? Other than weight division

Please enlighten me and give me that clue you asserted that I am in need of.

Its very simple. Margarito has not lost his last fight. If he had, then should understand why Floyd wouldn't fight him.

But the fact is, Marg hasn't lost at 147 in years, and he is ranked number 2 there behind Floyd by RING. Collazo just lost to a 140 pounder. If Marg could get a fight to set up a bout with Floyd, it'd be vs someone like Hatton, Cotto, or Judah. Not Collazo.

Also, Foyd's fans need to stop making excuses for him (ie you). Floyd himself said Margarito is one of his top 5 options next, and in fact seems to be leaning towards Margarito based on reports from his advisors.

In other words...Floyd seems about to fight Margarito, so the fans should be happy about that instead of still trying to make excuses as to why Floyd shouldn't fight Marg. What's the point in trying to justify Floyd not fighting Tony if he himself realizes he needs to fight him?

He gains 8 mil. Who will Floyd fight? Probaly Cotto. But me being a Cotto fan..I don't think Cotto can beat mayweather. Probaly land a good punch but Cotto shouldn't fight Mayweather even though he can now. What does floyd get fighting Baldimor? He could do the same with Margarito take his belt..

Your misreading me. I never said that PBF shouldn't fight Margarito. All I pointed out was that the same arguement he used for Margarito should not fighting Collazo is often used for why PBF should not fight Margarito.

I'm personally frustrated with jr.Welter and Welterweights. There is so much talent out there that is not fighting each other. I would love to see Margarito, PBF, Cotto, Hatton, Zab possibly even Castillo all fight each other.

Once again I'm not arguing on why PBF should not fight Margarito I would love to see this fight. All I wanted to do was show the irony of mechslave's argument.
I personally feel that with 8million "with no promotional strings attached by Arum" is a great deal and should be taken. PBF will definitely lose my respect if he turns down this fight, unless he fights another big name instead, i.e. Cotto, Hatton, DLH, Mosley, Castillo.
