Errol Spence vs Erislandy Lara @ 154

Spence just stopped Ocampo in the first round. At the press conference, Spence said that he’d like to fight again before the end of the year. I’d like to see Spence take one fight at 154 while he’s waiting on Thurman and the winner of Garcia-Porter.

Lara has only lost 3 times, all disputed decision losses. A Majority Decision to Paul Williams, a Split Decision to Canelo Alvarez, and in April he had a Split Decision to Jarret Hurd. Williams and Hurd were over 6 feet tall, and Lara has never been stopped.

Can Spence beat Lara? If Spence became the first person to stop Lara, would he be the #1 P4P fighter?

hell no........ beating two guys coming off losses (brook and lara) does not make you pound for pound number 1 although the yanks will probably have him number 1 and crawford number 2 if he did.

Kell Brook bounced back at 154 with a second round knockout in March and he’s got another fight at 154 in July. If Brook and Spence have a rematch at 154 at the end of this year, you think Brook has a chance to win after what happened last time?

id favour spence, rematches usually go the same way. although if brook genuinely was drained its an interesting rematch cause it was a competitive fight until his gas tank went. we dont know how much spences pressure and body shots had to do with it or whether he really was drained. id give spence the benefit of the doubt cause fighters always make excuses when they lose.

Spence weighed 156 for Ocampo and Lara weighed 168 for Hurd on fight night weights. I think Spence would beat Lara and possible stop him but it's a dangerous fight so why should he take that fight? As for pound for pound that is just personal opinion. People will put him wherever they want. Some people have Crawford number 1 but I think Spence would KO Crawford so I must rank Spence higher than Crawford PFP. Those who think Crawford can bwat Spence will of course rank Crawford higher than Spence PFP. Nobody can prove it one way or the other unless they fight. Loma and GGG are also in the running for PFP best.

Lol true. I get rooting for your country but some people take it overboard. Saw a guy from Britain have BJS in his top 5 p4p list haha
