ggg brought the fight to clenelo coming forward applying pressure and clenelo wanted no part of that. clenelo got on his bike and ran.

I think boxing fans in general thought Canelo would fight and and attack like the way he fought khan and especially after knocking khan out then getting on the microphone and say Mexicans don’t fuuuuk around, it made us think we would see a brawl . To his credit he did try to go for the ko the first 3 rounds. My guess that was the reason behind him gaining so much muscle. Once he realized he wasn’t gonna knock out GGG he went to plan B. Also he was on the ropes half of the time. Why didn’t GGG attack him like he did the rest of the guys he fough before?

Sometimes you have to adapt to the way the fight is unraveling. That’s why you go in with different game plans. GGG is a limited fighter that can only fight one way. So he never adapted in the fight. Abel knows this(and you know it too)that’s why he was begging Alvarez to stand and trade.

I don’t think GGG was expecting to lay on the ropes. It surprised him I guess. Canelo was countering off the ropes nicely as well so that may have had something to do with it . It’s strategy, I get it but nothing disappoints more than when a fighter talks some trash and we expect a war and we only get a battle.

Golovkin did the smart thing when Canelo was on the ropes. He took power off his punches and landed scoring blows. After it was apparent to Golovkin that Canelo would keep going to the ropes Golovkin must have been thinking "Just how dumb is this guy.?"

Thats what Sanchez said the first time. Canela also said that the first time and look what happened at the end of every round, Canela back peddled cause he thought he won the round. More of the same this time with yet another close decision. No thanks if I want to see the rematch I'll just watch the first fight on my dvr cause that's almost exactly what the rematch will be like.
