Interesting night of fights. The main event was awkward and their seemed to be no sense of urgency from either guy. Gesta is a solid fighter/gatekeeper but he is a level possibly 2 levels down from a championship caliber fighter.

Manzanarez is a came up very short in by far his biggest fight. He's got to throw more punches and use his height much better to his advantage. I'm not sure if Golden Boy puts him on this stage anytime soon my guess he goes back to Estrella TV for a while.

Now by far the biggest winner of the night was Manny Robles Jr. That was by far his most impressive win and he showed a lot of skills tonight against another solid prospect.

As for Valerio he got lots of heart and power but he needs to move on from training with his father. Joel Diaz, Robert Garcia, Freddie Roach would do wonders for the young kid.

Any time somebody with a gawdy record shows up out of nowhere, I never heard of him, I have my doubts about the hype, or lack of it. If Manzanarez was really that good, word would have got out long ago, they would try to collect on it as soon as possible, like Loma or Nery. Gesta did his job, but he didn't slam the gate.

Through the awesomeness of my wife I was able to attend this event in person. The Gesta fight was pretty disappointing as well as sloppy after Robles put down Velario. One of the best bouts of the evening was the swing bout that didn't get televised with Herbert Acevedo. He has some skills and power as well.

I like the fact that Gesta stays busy but I wouldn't want to see him in with any elite fighters.
