canelos counters... he opens more and will be easier job for canelo...
ggg did good fighting behind his jab and being cautious.. his best chance is to continue like that...
Yes you are right in that the counters made him cautious, I also feel in the first 3-4 rounds he was over cautious and gave Canelo way to much respect which made the fight closer than it needed to be

He basically needs to replicate his successes in the first fight a lot sooner to not allow Canelo to build an early lead

I think Canelo will really struggle to keep Golovkin off of him this time around

And the jab was a really good weapon to beat Canelo to the punch in the first fight

I would suggest he keeps that punch pumping all night to keep Canelo off of him

He will really need to work for this victory

I’m excited for the rematch !

One could argue do nothing differently from fight 1 except get a non-corrupt judge if you thought GGG won the first fight.

I thought the draw was legit doe so I thought in the first fight & I think in the rematch GGG should attack the body more.

One big issue with Canelo is he punts away too many rounds. In most of the rounds where he's engaging & fighting 3mins or as close as he gets to fighting 3mins in a round I thought he won. The rest where he did even less work are rounds I felt he lost more than GGG won if that makes sense.

So I think a GGG key to victory is to f#ck Canelo's body up & slow him down sooner & more often to punt more rounds GGG's way or better yet get himself in a position to be stopped.

He needs to apply more pressure. Canelo gasses out in late rounds, he will slow down even sooner if he is being worked to the body. His chin is granite so he isn't getting KO'd.

These are more thoughtful responses than I expected (given the common vitriol around here....)

            (I'm sure I spoke too soon :0)

I'm hearing the theme that the early rounds are key. I'm hearing that both Canelo and Golovkin were too cautious early on, and "gave away" several rounds.

This is interesting. This COULD mean that both guys are going to push hard to win rounds, from the beginning.

If I was GGG I would try to stick to a similar game plan that was used in the first fight and try to refine/improve it. He definitely should try to use the jab as much as as possible because it's his best weapon. Getting more aggressive and trying to work the body will play right into Canelo's hands because it will make him easier to counter.

Plot twist. GGG takes some Clen this time, then it gets changed to a NC and they have to do it again lmao.

GGG needs to start early Canelo was cruising early before he ran out of gas
