yeah, that's the thing. When he tested positive I was waiting for them to strip him, they didn't. When he was suspended, I was waiting for them to strip him, they didn't. Finally I just accepted they wouldn't...Then they basically pull an IBF and strip him of the title before the match gets announced and they regret it lol.

IBF likely regrets the hell out of it too, and would love to be attached to this match (I wonder what the difference in sanctioning fees Canelo/GGG II would be over Jacobs vs Derev) but the IBF is so concerned with the optics of being the body that enforces mandatories and such that they can't just throw the vacant title into the match. It would be almost as messed up looking as Mauricio making a statement every week claiming that Canelo was innocent. (that's not your job you crooked phuck)

Ive always considered someone champ once they've unified the division. Problem is, with the politics and everything now, it happens so bloody rarely. And with 4 belts now it's even harder.

not to mention the WBA just ruining their own belt with the regular and super titles. One sanctioning body having two world champions is wrong on so many levels.

shameful part of GGG's resume is that him and Pirog was basically set up until Pirog had to retire with his back injury.

if GGG had beat Pirog for that title in 2012, I doubt anyone would say a thing about his resume.
