  • Comments Thread For: Flanagan's Manager: We Would Do a Hooker Rematch in Texas

Terry Flanagan's record for having the longest unbeaten winning ledger amongst the current crop of UK fighters came to an end on Saturday night, in his home city of Manchester. Topping the bill at the Manchester Arena, former WBO World Lightweight king Flanagan was bidding to become a two-weight world champion when he faced Maurice Hooker for the Super Lightweight version of the WBO belt.

Better go back to 135 and lose to Loma or Mikey than rematch this Hooker. Flanagan might suffer just like his idol Hatton did v Floyd/Pac!

He needs to find an answer for Hookers reach advantage, there was little sign of that happening in the 12 rounds they've already fought.

Back to the end of the line Terry, Hooker is joining the WBSS.

And Flanagan should join the WBSS Tournament too!

Why would Flanagan want a rematch here in Texas? Hooker "just another American", remember? (I sure do.) Now hold your L and move along.

I completely agree. The fight wasn't even close. Usually when I score, instead of 10-10 rounds, I'll give the round to the person I am not rooting for (just to eliminate any bias I might have).

With that said, I scored it 117-111. I know some folks who gave Hooker all 12 rounds (and I would not argue).

Basically, Flanagan was overrated, he hadn't fought anybody, he took Hooker lightly calling him "Just another American"....and he got his a** whooped.

Even counting Flanagan's 14 month inactivity, I don't think he's good enough to win.... I do think a rematch would be closer, but Flanagan doesn't deserve a rematch based on their last fight.
