Comments Thread For: Joe Gallagher: Once You Get The Boxing Bug - Your Life is Over!

By Thomas Gerbasi - Joe Gallagher never had a chance. "My life has never been my own," he laughs. "Once you get the boxing bug, that's it, your life is over." It bit the Manchester native early, and he's never looked back, becoming one of the top trainers in the game. Yet his schedule is going to get a lot more hectic in September when he officially launches The Joe Gallagher Academy in his home city...

Lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooo, its true. I box as an amateur, thought i wasn't good enough and that it wasn't for me but boy! Everything about my life is boxing, it was my dads fault for introducing me to Sugar ray leonard videos, he wanted me to know how to fight so i don't get bullied. I have never stopped talking boxing, shadow boxing in front of the mirror, street etc People walk past me and think am crazy sometimes. My wife just thought i was odd with this whole boxing thing.

He’s a good bloke, people like to **** on him as a trainer but I think mundo/Smith will end up being super middle king pin in the next yr or so.

Joe doesn't know the basics and is unwilling to change his style.

His guys don't last long at top level cause they don't move their head and they can't move their head cause their too upright.

Crolla moved his head for 1 round against linares then gave up.

Are many big prospects choosing him? It doesn't seem so......of all the new crop of hearns stable, not many chose joe did they?

Plus I've seen some of the advice, and they will say to block an uppercut you should lean on it, really?! thats what crolla said anyway, I'm no boxer but surely that's the worst thing you could do. lolz
