Did you read the spot in the article where it said that this offer was likely higher than the $15 million offer Hearn made prior? Indicating that they felt the guarantee was close enough to what they would have gotten in a percentage split. Wouldn't be surprised if that's near $18-$20 million. Either way, if this is on US PPV, Wilders team are potentially missing out on huge revenue. If that's the case, it shows how much he wants this fight, lot of money left on the table.

Wilder fans were adament agreed set purses are lowball offers and Hearn doesn't want the fight. He must offer a percentage or he's 'ducking'. Yet here we are.

What's the proof that it wasn't a low ball offer? If Wilders team were adamant about receiving a percentage, how do you know whether or not Hearn continued to offer flat fees in the hopes of Wilder rejecting, allowing AJ to go on and fight Povetkin? How do you know if the offer that Wilder excepted (which he and his people say is below what was fair) wasn't an offer that Hearn put out thinking Wilder would reject? You don't know any of these things. It's funny how you type all high and mighty when you can be just as wrong as any other fan on this site. My opinion is, if this fight ends up on US PPV then it is definitely a low ball offer. I really don't think Hearn wanted AJ vs. Wilder till after Povetkin. And I think had Wilder negotiated for a fight that would occur after the Povetkin fight, he would have likely got a better deal. One thing we know for sure, is Wilder would have made far more money had AJ excepted the $50 million offer to fight in the US, and if we use that as a barometer, you can in fact say that Wilder has excepted a low ball offer. Many factors to consider, however when you're biased, you miss many.

Significant increase means significant, I still say 18-20. Some one was saying 15.5, now you're saying rumor is 16, by the end of the week it'll be up to 18.

Yeah I read on twitter that they upgraded their offer from £9.6 to £12mil flat.

That's an extra 4-5million USD. That's still double Wilder's best purse on top of the offer!

Anyway, good to see both champs getting paid.

No it shows he doesn't want to make UNDER 2 Million fights .

You guys can spin it anyway you like but WITHOUT Joshua Wilder makes NOTHING , so there is no money left on the table bc Joshua is generating HIS share of the money.

It sounds like it'll be PPV in the U.S since Hearn is saying September will be difficult as Canelo is fighting then.

there never was 50mil floating around and Wilder's ONLY chance to be somewhat a recognizable face in sports is this match. Any other fight and it'll be the same thing: he'll make some money and no one will even know that he exists besides us boxing nerds.

It's amazing isn't it? I can only assume because US fighters STAY smashing on UK fighters, but damn. I can understand fighters and their teams being concerned, but actual fans??

it is an obvious culture thing. In the US we just believe 'it is what it is'...meaning if our guy goes out and loses it's because he is not the best. But we want to see it either way.

I think it's because the UK has not had much in terms of mega-stars in boxing, so they start feeling a certain way when envisioning their top star getting ethered.

Ironically, the vast majority of those now scared are the casuals who were woofin' about what a "bum" Wilder is just 8-12 months ago....as that is what they heard other casuals say. Now that they have spent some time learning about the sport, **** is getting real for them. Ha ha AND they scared. SMH

I can't believe how personal Wilder fans are taking all this and have all been so close to the negotiations that they know the details of every offer and counter offer. Joshua is the star, not Wilder and that means he dictates the terms. It's the same with Canelo v GGG and anyone who fought Floyd post De La Hoya, including Manny. I actually quite like Wilder, but after reading all the anti British BS on threads I hope AJ absolutely smashes him.
