How can Dana White & the UFC succeed in Boxing?

Hearing today that apparently Dana won't work with GBP, TR, Showtime & now the ABC Groups.

Apparently he's gonna run this Zuffa Boxing just like the UFc where they control everything.

I was initially confident this wouldn't be how Dana would play ball in boxing & I kinda feel like it wasn't the plan til everyone started getting deals (Arum + Hearn) as they were looking to enter the boxing sphere.

Hard to jump in the game right now I feel like for Zuffa boxing. And who's gonna wanna sign an exclusive deal with an entity who's not going to acknowledge the ABC title holders thus isn't likely to be looking to match you up with them within the Zuffa boxing umbrella or outside of it.

So what am I missing here? How does this idea work exactly when Dana is claiming he won't work with some major players & won't have his fighters fighting for the ABC belts?

LOL likewise. I was optimistic this Zuffa boxing thing could make a mark in boxing. I thought they could sign some Haymon guys. I thought they could throw some fights on whoever they sign a deal with for their MMA content. It looked like something that could be done.

As 2018 has stretched on & they still hadn't started doing anything real I was kinda wondering what was happening & I thought that'd wanna move fast to pick up some notable free agents. Then Arum gets a deal. Now Eddie gets a deal. And that wide openness that was there at the beginning of the year just ins't there.

And now they are talking about this whole other new to boxing type format that I'm not even sure is legal based on the Ali Act. I feel like best case this is looking like BKB with the caliber of names involved & if thats the case idk how they have any real impact on professional boxing

He can pull it off if he signs a sh.it load of elite talent and puts them in must watch fights

People will go to where the good fights are no matter who puts them on

He has the platforms and can promote like a mother.ucker to put them on so if chose to be a island and not work with the sanctioning bodies or other promoters or platforms it could be successful

But in saying that getting that many established elite fighters to sign with out any help is probably going to near impossible and the same clear for Hearn as well with DAZN

Who can he sign? Limited free agents to start with. And likely that Eddie Hearn has the jump on signing them.

And then it would seem like you couldn't fight anyone outside of the Zuffa Boxing banner. I mean granted lotsa promotions are in house, but this would be 1000% in house like nothing you've seen before in boxing.

Also its worth asking how is this gonna not violate the Ali Act? You can't create your own title & rankings. They'd have to entrust someone to create their rankings & rule on title situations from my understanding.

            Agree with what you wrote

I’m just saying if he wanted any chance of success and only wanted to work in house that’s what he’d have to do

The chances of him signing enough elite talent to get people interested is slim to none unless he teamed up with Haymon and was able to use his stable and bought out a couple other smaller promotional companies to have a deep enough talent pool to pull it off

White is a greedy guy and he has under payed UFC fighters for so long he is used to it, Pro boxers are used to keeping most of the money and making their own decisions. Why will fail at boxing.

The only way that this has any chance to work would be if Zuffa Boxing simply buys out a bunch of smaller outfits and overpays a bit to have folks go along with it.

Buy the rest of Gary Shaw's company, buy up Thompson Boxing, buy up All Star Boxing, etc; any outfit that doesn't have a TV situation should be scooped up.

Get a nice pool of 40-50 fighters, and keep everyone fighting each other.
