These 2 guys defined the word warriors. Not like what we have going on today with the ducking & cherry picking boxers who take 1 tough fight and then take on 2 yrs worth of scrubs.

Never heard that anywhere and most likely because it never happened. Morales was a great fighter but he never wanted to fight Marquez which is surprising because Morales was a warrior.

Morales was a tad slower than Barrera and with Morales not so great defense and head movement he’d have been in range for Marquez counters and uppercuts too.

Morales would give problems though because he’s Morales but hard to see him winning more than 5 rounds against Marquez. Marquez had superior Boxing IQ, faster hands and better defense. Great fight though it sucks we didn’t get that one.

Yeah I know he refined his style to beat Hamed, but I thought he was more technical then Morales even before that, I've seen his pre '01 fights and I wouldn't call him just a slugger, he still had good skills, even though he was more aggressive. In the first Morales fight he was counter punching Morales and looked the more technical of the two.

I think they did, they were doing meet and greets local to me together over a year ago.

Meanwhile Sulaiman joked that the first meeting coincided with his bachelor party in Las Vegas.

“I don’t remember the fight,” laughed the WBC president.
