Marquez. The man would throw beautiful counter punches in combination and was always showing great variation. Toney was damn great as a counter puncher too.

    Two of my absolute favorites.

I would go with toney. I have seen marquez been outboxed, i have seen toney NEVER been thoroughly outboxed in his career. Outside his prime obviously. Also toneys punchs naturally looked like counter punches they would flow effortlessly. Marquez would load up on his counters to get the full effect. Watching toneys was more natural like watching raindrops or the river flow.

aside from fighting manny and giving him a hard time, im not that really impress with marquez. he just got pac figured out.

i think he got lucky when matched with pac early on in their career which continue on a rivalry. i feel if he never fought manny, most people wont even know who marquez is.

he looks like crap in the bradley fight. i've never seen him get clown like that.
I'm convinced you really don't know or didn't see a great deal of his career with these comments. He was 40 and at welterweight when he fought Bradley.

If someone isn't impressed with Marquez it's usually a diehard Pacquaio fan and funnily enough one that usually thinks Pacquaio is like top 10 of all-time.

Marquez. Tony is not has consistent of a counter puncher as dynamita was. Tony was more of a boxer-counter puncher where he'll box your ears off with jabs and that right hand.

I think he is mistaken on his input, saying without pacquiao he would be a nobody is nonsense. Who knows, maybe he would have had a trilogy with barrera,or morales or whoemever, but to be unknown without pac makes no sense, Marques was destined to be a great in the sport.

Nah I think Toney is punch drunk from sparring like 6 days a week for so many years.
