Anyways, Spence beats Crawford no doubt. It's not going to be as close as people think. Spence will be too much for him, I see a possible stoppage. Although Crawford has great skills and you could say he is slicker, he won't be able to keep Spence off him and he won't be able to take the punishment either. Spence will break him down and stop him late.
Lara was right there but as I suspected (1) those legs aren't what they used to be and (2) he likes to get off more than many here give him credit for. I knew he'd trade with Hurd because Hurd is there to be hit and he stays on top of you. A guy like Lara can't resist. He underestimated the relentlessness of Hurd and by the time he realized it he was already depleted (legs).

But my post is really centered on these guys posting about "slick" fighters all the time. That **** don't work at the A level when the other guy can cut the ring off. Spence isn't some plodding fighter.

maybe but i didnt see anyone who gave horn a chance to begin with anyway. the only fights that are interesting for crawford are across the street anyway unless he fights pacquiao or something

Imo he's a very intelligent fighter but also a very very physical guy who fought at LHW as an amateur. I personally think that fight doesn't fit this mold. But we all know that first fight wasn't some resounding win either lol

But to your latter point, it's not about whether the fights were close, it's about how people talk about them that annoys me lol I firmly believe that Floyd has an outsized influence on the minds of fans and that leads them to say these hyperbolic statements about "slick" fighters that aren't connected with reality lol

I think Bud is the A level but so is that other guy named Spence lol The size will be decisive in that fight. I actually think a guy with a style like Canelo or Toney (guys who can make you miss on the inside and counter) has a better shot than a guy with Bud' s style does with Spence.
Styles do make fights...To be fair I felt Kovalov should of won the 1st fight. And the second one my nuts hurt even thinking about that fight.

And Im a huge fan of both.

Correct, there are many more dimensions and factors that I think people dont take into account before drawing their conclusions.

Good breakdown of the Lara-Hurd fight, if a guy is there to get hit Lara is going to take what's given to him any day of the week, he won't back down. We also saw him hurt Hurd, who's never even been visiblity hurt before from what I can recall. Hurd even admitted himself, Lara is the best puncher he's faced. People don't give Lara credit for his power because he prefers his slick boxing style, but I always had the feeling that if Lara were to sit down on some of those straight shots they can do LOTS of damage, which we saw was the case against Hurd about 2-3 times during the fight. I think it was a combination of Lara being older, hasn't fought top competition in years, and a bit of his legs not being what they used to that ultimately led to his defeat in the eyes of the official judges at least. I believe the Lara from a few years ago would have won a clear decision. It was a great fight though, i'd personally like to see a rematch and I feel the outcome of that would be determined by if Lara can make adjustments to be better or if he's simply on the decline to the point where he can only get worse from here. He has to reinvent his style a bit, move less then was previously the case. Let's see where he goes from here, great fighter a bit underrated imo, shame his prime years are behind him and I feel like he won all 3 fights his offical record shows an "L" for.

The only other Welterweight I see him beating is Porter is because Porter sytle..

                  Thurman is to slick
                  Spence is to strong
And Garcia will be will to trade..

I know he's rated high but really. Who have he beating to say he s that good??
Porter would probably be too much. He smothers his work but he can fight on the inside and he is a dog. Crawford would be taken into some deep waters.

Some of you guys are seeing what I said all along.
It's a TR hype job to the fullest.
                    And it gets worse.
TR will let his 1st defense against Bam-Bam Rios, Mike Alvarado, or worse, Karim Mayfield.
Those PBC boys will rough him up.
